The Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) new state-of-the-art National Cricket Academy (NCA) on the outskirts of Bengaluru is set to be inaugurated on September 29. This event will coincide with the 93rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of India's cricket governing body.

The all-new NCA is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 29. "Yes, the new NCA will be inaugurated during the board's AGM at Bengaluru, most likely by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The likely date for the BCCI AGM is Sept 27," a reliable source had informed TOI before the September 29 date was eventually finalised.

It was expected that a new secretary would be elected during the AGM to replace the incumbent Jay Shah, who has been elected as the chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). However, it hasn't been mentioned in the list of agendas for the meeting. Therefore, the BCCI could have to plan a Special General Meeting (SGM) to elect the new secretary, understandably before Shah's officially takes charge as the ICC chairman on December 1.

Notices have been sent to the affiliated bodies regarding the AGM, which will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel. There are speculations of BCCI President Roger Binny playing a key role in the meeting. He could also be appointed as BCCI's representative to the ICC, replacing the 35-year-old Shah.
