Multan Sultans' premier pacer Ihsanullah can arguably be termed as the find of the Pakistan Super League season 8 in so many ways. He finished as the second-most leading wicket-taker in the series with 22 scalps in 12 matches at an economy of 7.59 and was also adjudged the Player of the Series for his remarkable season with the ball.

However, he had a match to forget when his team Multan Sultans took on Lahore Qalandars in the summit clash of season eight on Saturday at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday, March 18. The right-arm pacer leaked runs at an alarming rate of 12.33 per over and conceded 37 runs in three overs.

Ihsanullah was tasked to bowl the 17th over of Qalandars' innings and he was taken for 24 runs in that single over as he struggled for control. But Sultans' skipper Mohammad Rizwan was seen hugging his pacer in what came across as a heartfelt gesture despite Ihsanullah struggling for rhythm. The gesture was also praised by commentator Simon Doull who was on air at that point of time.

Ihsanullah recorded excellent spells during the entirety of the PSL season eight and his overall economy during the season is a testimony to the same. In a season that saw batters dominate the ball and records were seen tumbling for fun, Ihsanullah was one of the very few bowlers who managed to give a tough fight to batters in the event.

His best bowling figures were 5/12 and came during the league stage of the season against Quetta Gladiators and the right-arm quick bowled at an impressive average of 15.77. He has also been rewarded for his excellent PSL season and is a part of Pakistan's 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.
