Goa find themselves in a precarious situation on Day 3 of their first Ranji Trophy fixture against Tripura as they got bundled out for 135 in the first innings in reply to Tripura’s massive score of 484. Only Deepraj Gaonkar showed some resistance against the potent bowling attack top scoring with his knock of 41 (76).
However, the rest of the batters failed to support him as right-arm seamer Abhijit Sarkar ran through Goa’s batting order registering figures of 4/24 in 12 overs. Apart from him, Manisankar Mura Singh (3/40) and Rana Datta (3/41) also picked up three wickets each.

Arjun Tendulkar also had a disappointing outing, scoring just 11 (21) while he picked two wickets with the ball giving away 94 runs in 26 overs. In his short first-class career so far, the 24-year-old has scored 223 runs from nine innings with one century to his name and has scalped 12 wickets as well.
Earlier in the first day, Tripura didn’t get off to a good start as Bikramkumar Das (10) and Bishal Ghosh (7) got dismissed cheaply. After the early blows, Sudip Chatterjee (42) and Sridam Paul stabilized the innings with their 69 stand.
Tripura leading by 486 runs at Tea on Day 3
Chatterjee got dismissed for 42 falling prey to Vijesh Prabhudesai while Paul ended up scoring a 112 (162) with the help of 15 fours and a six. Courtesy of their knocks, Tripura finished Day 1 on 261/4. Later on Day 2, Ganesh Satish (73), captain Wriddhiman Saha (97) and Manisankar Mura Singh (50) took Tripura to a massive score of 484.

Mohit Redkar was the pick of the bowlers for Goa picking 4/74 in 22.4 overs. Meanwhile, Tripura further extended their lead beyond 450 as they didn’t enforce the follow-on and batted in the second innings. Opener Bikramkumar Das had a better outing than the first innings scoring 45 (64). They were 123/3 at Tea with Sridam Paul (14) and Rajat Dey (6) at the crease.
