The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has announced the squad for upcoming Ranji Trophy 2024-25, and once again, seasoned batter Mayank Agarwal has been elected as the captain for the 16-member team. One of the most successful sides in India's premier domestic competition, Karnataka have failed to step up and clinch the trophy in recent years, their last being a decade ago during the 2014-15 season. As a result, a good blend of young and experienced athletes has been chosen in a hope to turn things around.
Apart from Agarwal, Manish Pandey, Shreyas Gopal, Devdutt Padikkal and Prasidh Krishna are the well-known inclusions in the squad. On the bowling end, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Vasuki Kaushik and Vidyadhar Patil will be seen as the frontline attack for the state, whereas, Luvnith Sisodia and Sujay Sateri are the two wicketkeepers announced by the KSCA. Samit Dravid, son of legendary batter Rahul Dravid, however, was not considered for the selection.
