In the fifth round game of the Ranji Trophy Plate League 2024-25, Goa faced Arunachal Pradesh at the Goa Cricket Association Academy in Porvorim. Host batters Snehal Kauthankar and Kashyap Bakle achieved an extraordinary feat on the second day of the clash. The duo put on a mind-boggling unbeaten 606-run partnership against Arunachal.
Their partnership of 606 runs is now the record for the highest partnership for any wicket in Ranji Trophy history, as the duo went past SM Gugale and Ankeet Bawne of Maharashtra, who held the record previously, putting together an unbeaten stand of 594 versus Delhi in 2016, also for the third wicket.
During their stay at the crease, both Kauthankar and Bakle also reached triple hundreds each, While Bakle scored 300* off just 269 balls, laced with 39 fours and a couple of sixes, Kauthankar too went onto smash 314 runs off a mere 215 deliveries with an amazing 45 boundaries and four maximums.

Coming in to bat on the opening day of the encounter, Bakle first paired with Suyash Prabhudessai (73 off 64) for a 109-run stand, and was then joined by Kauthankar, as the duo also helped Goa take a lead of 643 runs, compiling 727 runs for the loss of two wickets in just 92 overs. Goa's run-rate read 7.90 when the captain Darshan Misal signalled the batters to come out and declare the innings.

It is noteworthy to mention that the Mumbai-born all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar also took a five-wicket haul in the first innings, which bundled AP out for a paltry score of just 84 in 30.3 overs. Arjun registered figures of 5/25 in just nine overs, three of which were maiden. Mohit Redkar also took three wickets.
