RCB Record in Green Jersey: Wins, losses and full match stats & history (2009–2025)
RCB will wear the jersey against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 20.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have carried a tradition where they wear 'Green Jersey' to celebrate "Go Green Day" during their afternoon games in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The main reason behind donning the jerseys is to promote the planting of trees and reduce the effect of global warming. As per tradition, the RCB captain presents a sapling to the opponent captain before the start of the game to promote the cause.
The franchise usually prefers donning the green jersey in their home games at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. However, they don't have any afternoon games at home, which start at 3.30 or 4 PM. Earlier, RCB have held these matches in neutral venues during the COVID-19 breakout in the country. Also, they wore blue jerseys back in 2021 to give tribute to the Covid-19 frontline warriors in India and worldwide.
Meanwhile, the franchise launched their green jerseys at the Eden Garden, Kolkata, following the first match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2025. This year, they will continue customary act and wear the special jersey against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, on April 13. Meanwhile, it is important to take a look at RCB's record in matches where they have won the green jersey.
