The ongoing clash between Chennai Super Kings and hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 is turning out to be full of ebbs and flows as CSK batters showed some superb hitting prowess to hammer 226 for the loss of six wickets.
RCB began their chase after a break but were soon jolted as star batter Virat Kohli had to trudge towards the dugout. CSK's young pace sensation Akash Singh dismissed the RCB batting maestro at an individual score of just six runs and gave a reason to the CSK fans to rejoice.
But while CSK supporters danced in merriment at Kohli's dismissal, it left his wife Anushka Sharma gobsmacked as she was captured on camera in utter disbelief at the early departure of the former RCB skipper.
Akash Singh jumped in jubilation as he knew that he had bagged a big fish in the form of Kohli. The right-handed batter tried to make some room and tried to put the length ball away towards midwicket but all he managed was to underedge it on his boot and it trickled to his stumps.
CSK batters bamboozle RCB bowlers to post humongous total
The CSK batters made the most of the batting conditions at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Ajinkya Rahane scored 37 off 20 balls and began the carnage with the willow for the visiting side.
The Southpaw Devon Conway continued the onslaught as he amassed 83 off 45 balls, including six sixes and six fours. But the real venom was injected by yet another Southpaw from the CSK camp as Shivam Dube aggregated 52 off 27 deliveries, including five sixes and two fours.
RCB bowlers struggled to get their lengths right on a wicket that was tailor made for batting. Vyshak Vijaykumar, who was the star with the ball for RCB in the last game against Delhi Capitals with his three-wicket haul, went for 62 runs in his four-over spell against the Yellow Army.
