Really happy with how things are going now, hopefully, we can keep momentum going into WC: Rahul Dravid

"For people like Jasprit, Ashwin, Shreyas, KL, getting game time was important, and getting that against a competitive side is a good thing," Rahul Dravid said.

Team India seem to be prepared for the upcoming ODI World Cup that is around the corner. With the marquee event all set to begin on October 5, India have put forth excellent performances in the preceding tournaments and even in their recently concluded three-match ODI series against Australia.

With the tournament rapidly approaching, team India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, took centre stage and talked of his satisfaction with the preparation of the squad for the World Cup. Dravid opined that he was content with the amount of game time that each player got.

"For people like Jasprit, Ashwin, Shreyas, KL, getting game time was important, and getting that against a competitive side is a good thing. The practice games are generally 15 vs 15 so it's hard to get that level of intensity in those games," Rahul Dravid was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

"Jasprit got a couple of games, and bowled his quota of 10 overs. Siraj suffered from a bug but got back and was able to bowl today. It was good to see how Ashwin bowled in the first two games,” he added.

I'm expecting everybody to be there: Dravid

Furthermore, Dravid also stated that he was happy with the performances of the players who had made their return from injuries or long breaks. It is worth noting that the Indian team will be taking on England in their first warm-up game on Saturday, September 30 ahead of the World Cup

Speaking of the same, Dravid stated that he is expecting every player to be in Guwahati by September 28 to prepare for the clash.

"We've had a few issues with viral (fever) going around the group. It was a balancing act in this game, because of people going home for personal reasons, and a team leaving for the Asian Games tonight, so some guys like Rutu and Tilak had to join that team. I'm expecting everybody to be there at Guwahati by 28th night or 29th early morning, and hopefully the bug going around the ground has cleared up as well,” Dravid said.
