The Australia cricket team will reportedly be having a training camp in Alur, situated in Bengaluru, ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Australia have already started their full-fledged training for the marquee event, and seem to be more than hungry to just get on with the series.
To be informed, the camp that the Aussies will be getting involved in Alur, will be a four-day affair, before the Baggy Greens head to Nagpur, Maharashtra to play the opening Test against India.
Alur camp to be organised by NCA
"We are only providing them the facilities in Alur but the camp will be arranged and looked after by the NCA," said a Karnataka State Cricket Association office-bearer as quoted by New Indian Express.
It is also to be noted that the four-day Alur camp will be sponsored and stringently supervised by the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The respective Karnataka office-bearer, speaking further on the schedule of the Aussies went on to state that the NCA will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the visitors are provided all and top-class facilities for their practice sessions, and they are very well looked after. The schedule and timings of the training sessions are strictly withheld by the NCA.
"The schedule and other requests made by the Australian team management are known only to NCA. They are in direct touch with the NCA authorities," he added.
Australia made the special request to train in Bengaluru in a bid to have a bit more control over the pitch for training before they headed to Nagpur. The Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium will host the series opener and center-wicket practice at the venue is likely to be available on the last 3 days in the lead-up to the Test.
The upcoming series will hold extreme importance for both the sides involved as India will look to get a big win over their opponents to ensure a place in the finals of the World Test Championship. Australia, on the other hand, have almost secured a place in the finals and only a 0-4 loss to India will dampen their chances.
