With former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting’s exit from Delhi Capitals as the side’s head coach confirmed, the franchise is looking for a suitable replacement. With Sourav Ganguly already present in DC’s support staff, the side is reportedly looking towards Yuvraj Singh as their next head coach.
Yuvraj had been earlier linked with a move to Gujarat Titans as well. Despite the former cricketer not having much experience in coaching, DC is keen on adding him to their support staff and expects him to do wonders like Ashish Nehra for GT.
With as many as 40 Tests, 304 ODIs, and 58 T20Is played throughout his career, Yuvraj Singh was a stalwart of Indian cricket, revered by many as the greatest white-ball cricketer produced by the country. Yuvraj was in a league of his own in his prime.

Although Yuvraj has no experience with coaching, he has helped the likes of Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and a few others enhance their game and take it to the next level.
Delhi Capitals still in search for maiden IPL title
Under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, Delhi Capitals are still searching for their maiden IPL title. Needless to say, the side has come close a few times but has never managed to lift the title. In the IPL 2024, the Capitals failed to propel themselves into the knockout stages of the competition.
Despite several stars in their arsenal, DC finished in sixth place in the standings, winning seven games and losing just as many in the 14 games that they played. With 14 points to their name, Capitals missed out on the playoff spot on net run rate, as Royal Challengers Bengaluru cut a stellar comeback in the group stages.
However, with a new coach in the IPL 2025, the Capitals will hope for a resurgence and an improved campaign where they can become title favourites. With the mega auction ahead, the Capitals will be keen on rebuilding their squad.
