The recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 ended in disappointment for the Indian team. After winning the first Test in Perth, India went on to lose the clashes in Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney, losing the series and the trophy to the Aussies.

With team India’s horrid show down under, the trio of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and head coach Gautam Gambhir have been facing major criticism. However, despite the pressure, there have been reports that no action has been taken against the trio yet.

“There will be a review meeting without any action. You can’t remove a coach for the poor performances of the batters. Gambhir will remain Team India’s coach, and Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will play a Test series in England,” a source in the know was quoted as saying by Crictoday.

India fully focused on Champions Trophy 2025

With qualification to the World Test Championship final out of the question after their losses in the BGT. The Indian team seems to have shifted their focus in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. After their disappointing loss in the ODI World Cup final in 2023, team India will hope for redemption in the Champions Trophy.
