In order to revive his Test career and get back into the scheme of things, middle-order batter Hanuma Vihari is expected to join Madhya Pradesh for the upcoming 2023-24 domestic season. However, the 29-year-old is yet to receive a No-Objection Certificate from his current board Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) and thus, the entire process might take some time to get finalised.
Notably, Vihari has represented the national team in 16 Test matches, scoring 839 runs in the process. The cricketer played some astonishing knocks against West Indies on the 2019 tour but his most memorable one came against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground during India's tour of Australia 2020-21, when his partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin helped India draw the third Test of the series.
Meanwhile, Vihari’s new team (Madhya Pradesh) has already established stars in the middle order in the form of Rajat Patidar, Venkatesh Iyer and Shubham Sharma. Thus, it will not be an easy task for him to make an impression but the cricketer is ready to take the challenge.
He had a very poor season in the last calendar year, scoring just 490 runs in 14 matches. However, his gutsy act to bat left-handed because of a broken forearm was heavily appreciated by the cricketing fraternity in India.
MP bound Kulwant Khejroliya to join conditioning camp ahead of next season
After having a tough time with Delhi in domestic cricket, Kulwant Khejroliya is all set to represent Madhya Pradesh in the upcoming season too. The 31-year-old left-arm pacer has played only 14 First Class matches for Delhi and thus, seems frustrated with his limited role in the side.
However, when it comes to List A cricket, his numbers are brilliant, as the pacer has 61 wickets to his name in 29 matches. Now, in order to revamp his red-ball career, the cricketer is reportedly going to switch to Madhya Pradesh.
Meanwhile, as per ESPNcricinfo, the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has named Vihari and Khejroliya among the probable who will go through a conditioning camp before the start of the season. However, the date of the same is yet to be finalised.
