According to reports, ICC has expressed its displeasure with the installation of two oversized sight screens at the National Stadium in Karachi. The iconic stadium is set to host the inaugural match in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 between Pakistan and New Zealand.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) accelerated the renovation of the National Stadium as they were racing against time to get the venue ready for the marquee event. However, the venue is also going to host matches in the tri-series involving Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa which precedes the Champions Trophy.

As per RevSportz, ICC is not happy with the huge sight screens as it blocks the view of the fans who had bought tickets behind them. The cricket-governing board has formally communicated to the PCB to compensate these fans with refunds.

A new five-story building has been completed, while digital screens and LED lights have also been installed at the venue. A colourful inauguration ceremony is scheduled for February 11

Project Director Bilal Chauhan spoke to the media on Thursday, February 6, to confirm that the renovation and construction work, including the up-gradation has been completed. Meanwhile, a fence has been recently erected in front of the VVIP enclosures at National Stadium in Karachi for the impending Champions Trophy 2025. The tickets for these enclosures are priced at PKR 20,000.

Pakistan are the defending champions of the Champions Trophy. They won the previous edition of the tournament in 2017. Under Sarfaraz Ahmed's leadership, Pakistan beat India in the summit clash at The Oval in London by 180 runs.

Pakistan and India are placed in Group A in the ninth edition of the Champions Trophy alongside New Zealand and Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Group B features Australia, England, South Africa, and Afghanistan.
