With the new season of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2025 approaching, several reports have come forward which have stated that the IPL will reportedly be adopting the International Cricket Council’s Code of Conduct (ICC) regulations for all players in the 2025 season.

As per the reports, the decision was taken at the recent BCCI’s general council meeting where several important topics like the upcoming WPL, IPL, and the Champions Trophy were discussed as well.

“From now on, the ICC’s sanctioned penalties will be imposed for Level 1, 2 or 3 offenses. Till date, IPL had its own Code of Conduct but going forward, Playing Conditions will be followed as per ICC T20I regulations,” an IPL GC member was quoted as saying by News18.

It is worth noting that in the IPL 2024, as many as 10 Code of Conduct violations were registered. There were several moments from the tournament which were controversial and went viral.

Tim David, Kieron Pollard, Virat Kohli, Sam Curran, Rasikh Salam Dar and Ishan Kishan all committed Level 1 offenses in subsequent games. However, with the reported change in rules, some of the offenses would not be given in the IPL 2025.
