Lucknow Super Giants pacer Jaydev Unadkat has been ruled for the remaining IPL 2023 season after the 31-year-old hurt his left shoulder during a practice session on Sunday, April 30. However, as per reports, the cricketer will be fit by the time India takes on Australia in the World Test Championship finale, which is slated to begin on June 7 at the Oval.

Notably, right before he was slated to bowl his first delivery in the nets, Unadkat’s left foot got stuck in the rope that keeps the net up and because of the same, the cricketer had a nasty fall on his bowling elbow and hurt himself in the process. Lying on the ground, he clutched his shoulder and as per ESPNcricinfo, the cricketer was seen with his arm in a sling and an ice pack on his shoulder not long after.

Meanwhile, Unadkat has travelled to Mumbai for the scans, and currently, BCCI is keeping a close eye on his development. The cricketer visited one of the special consultants appointed by the Indian board and after which, the Lucknow Super Giants management decided to withdraw his name for the remaining season. He is now expected to move to National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for rehab and in order to get ready for his next assignment, which is the WTC finale.

Still no medical update on KL Rahul

LSG skipper KL Rahul hurt his leg while fielding in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He couldn’t take part further in the game and only came out to bat at number 11, but even so, it was spotted that he could barely walk. Meanwhile, there’s still no medical update on Rahul confirming the severity of his injury.

However, it is expected that the cricketer will miss LSG’s next match against Chennai Super Kings, which is slated to take place on May 3. In his absence, all-rounder Krunal Pandya will be seen leading the side but the team will eventually miss Rahul as his experience may come in handy at the business end of the tournament.
