Reports: Mukesh Choudhary and Chetan Sakariya to travel with team India as net bowlers for the T20 World Cup
Deepak Chahar is reported to have sustained another injury.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Mukesh Choudhary and another left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya have been added as net bowlers to prepare the Indian batters for the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue will take on Pakistan in its opening encounter to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on January 23 (Sunday).
Talking about Choudhary and Sakariya, both left-arm pacers have proven their worth in the toughest franchise-based league. Choudhary under the leadership of CSK skipper MS Dhoni bowled some magical spells in IPL 2022. Talking about Sakariya, the young pacer impressed everyone during his stint with the Rajasthan Royals.
The left-arm pacer was released from the RR squad, but he was bagged by the Delhi Capitals for the recently concluded IPL edition. Despite getting a few chances, Sakariya has been impressive in the domestic circuit. Both left-arm pacers will try to give their level best and ensure that the Indian batters get the best preparations for the all-important tournament.
Team India has a fair share of difficulties in facing the left-arm seamers. The likes of Mohammad Amir, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Trent Boult, and West Indies pacer Obed McCoy have demolished the Indian batting order in the past.
Deepak Chahar did not play in the first ODI against Africa due to an injury
In another piece of news, Deepak Chahar did not participate in the first ODI match against South Africa due to a twisted ankle. He is unlikely to be part of the last two ODIs as well. The home team will want to rectify its mistakes in the second ODI encounter to be played on October 9 (Sunday) in Ranchi having lost the series opener.
