After having a terrific Indian Premier League in 2023, Rinku Singh earned his maiden international call-up during the series against Ireland. Over the last few months, the left-handed batter has proven to be one of the match-winners for the Indian side and courtesy of the same, the Aligarh-born cricketer is one of the favourites to make it to India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, according to reports, the 26-year-old was recently spotted in the Indian team’s official photoshoot for the marquee tournament. He travelled to Dharamshala for the same, which raised speculations of him making it to the T20 World Cup. Notably, in 15 T20I matches he has played so far, Rinku has hit 356 runs at a strike rate of 176.26, which made him earn the title of a ‘finisher’.

The upcoming edition of the IPL will hold a lot of value for Rinku as India’s middle order is currently stacked. With the likes of Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Jitesh Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja available for selection, Rinku’s position in the playing XI is currently under threat. To change that, he will have to play some brilliant cricket throughout the tournament in order to make it to the playing XI.

On the other hand, during his trip to Dharamshala, Rinku met his former Kolkata Knight Riders head coach Brendon McCullum. The duo posed for a photograph as Rinku shared the same on his Instagram account. He captioned it as ‘Later, later, later, always an inspiration @bazmccullum42,” Rinku wrote.

Meanwhile, he returned back to Mumbai after the photoshoot assignment ended in Dharamsala. According to Hindustan Times, the cricketer joined the KKR camp and is training under assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. He along with other cricketers are expected to go to Kolkata in the third week of March as the two-time champions will play their opening game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23 at the iconic Eden Gardens.
