Reports: Team India players get warning as BCCI unpleased with Virat Kohli for disclosing 'confidential' Yo-Yo test score
Team India players are currently in the midst of the five-day skill-enhancement camp in Alur, Karnataka.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a verbal warning to the national team players after star batter Virat Kohli disclosed his Yo-Yo test score on social media. Considered as ‘confidential information’, the apex board advised the players to avoid posting such information on social media.
As team India begin their road to the crucial Asia Cup 2023 campaign, preparations are in full swing, as the players are in the midst of the five-day skill-enhancement camp in Alur, Karnataka. Prior to the camp, players had to undergo the ‘Yo-Yo’ test to determine their fitness levels for the ACC event.
With this, former India skipper Kohli shared an image of himself on his Instagram story and revealed his Yo-Yo test score.
“The happiness of finishing the Yo Yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2 done," he captioned the story.
While Kohli’s post did not amuse the members of the BCCI, a verbal warning was issued to the players, asking them to avoid revealing confidential information as it leads to breach of contract.
“Players have been informed verbally to avoid posting any confidential matter on social media platforms. They can post pictures while training but posting a score leads to breach of contract clause,” a BCCI official was quoted by the Indian Express.
Team India begin preparations for Asia Cup 2023
Speaking about the five-day camp in Alur, the think tank has recruited 14 net bowlers in order to ensure the ‘quality of practice sessions’. The Men in Blue will commence their campaign on September 2, against the arch-rivals, Pakistan, at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, in Sri Lanka.
Skipper Rohit Sharma will continue leading the setup whereas Hardik Pandya has been named his deputy for the ACC event. Team India will head for the Asia Cup with the intention to improve certain areas and obtain a core side just in time for the eagerly-anticipated 2023 ODI World Cup.
