Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli have been at the centre of controversies for several reasons over the years, thanks to their on-field tussles in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both players were involved in a brawl during the IPL 2013 as Kohli charged towards Gambhir after the latter’s aggressive celebration after his dismissal. Over the years, the two engaged in one of the most intense verbal fights on the field during Lucknow Super Giants’ game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2023.

Now that the former India opener is named the Head Coach of the Indian team, all eyes are on the conduct between the two sharing the same dressing room. According to reports from Cricbuzz, Kohli has made it clear that the past scenarios will not affect the common goal both the stalwarts carry for the betterment of Indian cricket. Moreover, Gambhir had previously opened up about his relationship with the star Indian batter post-on-field antics.

"The perception is far away from the reality. My relationship with Virat Kohli is something this country doesn't need to know. He has as much right as I do to express himself and help our respective teams win. Our relation is not to give masala to the public," Gambhir was quoted as saying by NDTV Sports.
