Ace Indian cricketer Virat Kohli was spotted in a heated debate with the journalist at the Melbourne Airport a week ahead of the Boxing Day Test in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma have opted against exposing their children to the media. However, that is what occurred after Kohli and his family landed at the airport.

Kohli had a tense exchange with a journalist who tried to click pictures without his consent. “With my kids I need some privacy, you can’t film without asking me,” Kohli could be heard saying, as quoted by 7NEWS.

“It was upon seeing the waiting cameras that Kohli became a little heated over what is largely a misunderstanding when he thought the media was filming him with his children,” shared a reporter from Channel 7.

After the brief back-and-forth, Kohli walked away. However, he was stopped after a few seconds as the correspondents clarified that they were not recording their children. Kohli reportedly shook hands with the cameraman before leaving.

Coming to cricket, the ongoing series has not been the best for Kohli. There was considerable amount of hype ahead of the series as Kohli was expected to revive after a dip in his Test form. However, excluding the unbeaten 100 in India’s second innings in Perth, his performances have been largely tepid. A large part of India’s success in the remainder of the series understandably relies on Kohli coming good with the bat.

The current series Down Under is of utmost importance for India as far as the 2023-25 cycle of the World Test Championship is concerned. After the stalemate at the Gabba, the series is poised at 1-1. For India to make their way to their third WTC final without having to bank on other results, they need to win the next two matches. One win out of the remaining two matches would mean India will be dependent on other results to go their way.
