Reports: Virender Sehwag, Aarti Ahlawat separate after 20 Years of marriage
Virender Sehwag and Aarti Ahlawat tied the knot in 2004.
Indian legend Virender Sehwag and his wife, Aarti Ahlawat, are reportedly heading for separation after 20 years of marriage. The couple, who tied the knot in 2004, are said to have been living apart for several months, though neither party has made an official statement.
The former opener known for his explosive batting had an illustrious career that spanned from 1999 - 2013. Aarti, his wife, has largely maintained a low profile despite being in the public eye as the spouse of a celebrated batter. The couple's love story dates back to the early 2000s, culminating in a grand wedding hosted at the residence of the late Arun Jaitley, then India’s Finance Minister. Together, they have two sons, Aryavir, born in 2007, and Vedant, born in 2010.
Aarti, born on December 16, 1980, in New Delhi, pursued her education at Lady Irwin Secondary School and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, later completing a diploma in Computer Science at Maitreyi College, Delhi University.
The first signs of a rift appeared during the 2023 Diwali celebrations when Sehwag shared photos with his sons and mother but excluded Aarti from the posts. This sparked speculation about the status of their relationship. Additionally, two weeks ago, Sehwag visited the Vishwa Nagayakshi Temple in Palakkad and shared photos of the trip on Instagram, yet there was no mention of Aarti in the post. The couple has unfollowed each other on Instagram, which many interpret as a sign of growing distance.
