Reports: Yashasvi Jaiswal quits Mumbai, to play for Goa from next domestic season

Yashasvi Jaiswal's former teammates Siddhesh Lad and Arjun Tendulkar had also moved from Mumbai to Goa.

A piece of big news has surfaced as Indian star opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has reportedly decided to quit Mumbai and join Goa in the domestic circuit. The young superstar has revealed that the reason behind this decision is personal. Jaiswal would be joining his former Mumbai teammates Arjun Tendulkar and Siddesh Lad at Goa.

There is no doubt that Jaiswal is already an upcoming star not only in domestic/franchise cricket but also in international cricket. Jaiswal has been representing the Mumbai team since his U-19 days and has given some incredible performances.

However, according to reports, it turns out that the 23-year-old will be quitting the Mumbai domestic team and joining the holiday state of Goa. According to a source from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), the young star has sought an NOC through an email and revealed his reasons.

“He has sought an NOC from us and has cited that the reason for his move to Goa as personal," a source in the MCA told The Indian Express.

Jaiswal’s domestic record

Yashasvi Jaiswal has a great domestic record where he has already played 36 first-class games, 33 List-A games, and 107 T20s in total, maintaining a good average in all the formats. The southpaw has scored 3712 runs at an average of 60.85 in first-class cricket, 1526 runs at an average of 52.62 in List- A and 3012 runs at an average of 31.05 along with a strike rate of 149.55 in T20s.

Jaiswal has also delivered impactful performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL), playing for the Rajasthan Royals. Though he has not had the best of starts to the season this year, he has still been outstanding for the 2008 champions with 1641 runs in 56 games at an average of 30.96 and a strike rate of 149.31.
