Zimbabwe cricket team failed to qualify for the 2023 ODI World Cup after Scotland bagged a victory against them by 31 runs. Zimbabwean pacer Richard Ngarava apologised to Zimbabwe fans after the African nation lost in ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers; Zimbabwe was chasing the target of 235 runs but was bowled out for 203 runs.

After missing out on the 2019 World Cup, the African nation has endured heartbreak after the loss, failing to qualify for the 2023 World Cup. The Craig Ervine-led side had an unbeaten run in the super six competition, but after their back-to-back losses against Scotland and Sri Lanka, they have been now placed third on the table.

While only the top two teams will make get a ticket to India to the 13th edition of the prestigious tournament, with the Lankan Lions already through, the battle for one spot now is between Scotland and Netherlands. It will be interesting to see which team will qualify among these two European nations, as they both were not the part of last ODI World Cup.

Zimbabwe’s star all-rounder, Raza, was spotted with a discouraged face after their loss against the European side in the super six competition of ODI World Cup qualifiers. In the game, the right-handed batter, Raza, made 34 runs in 40 balls and gave crucial support to left-handed batter Ryan Burl in his 83-run mark, but in the end, a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) failed to qualify for ODI World Cup.
