English batter, Harry Brook, has made waves with his exquisite form the ongoing three-match Test series against New Zealand. He has amassed a staggering tally of 349 runs in just three innings, dominating the Kiwis in their own conditions like never before. Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting has acknowledged Brook's mind-boggling form, terming as the best in the world right now.
"He probably is (the best Test batter in the world) right now. He is doing some pretty amazing things and most of them, he is doing away from home. That's his seventh hundred now away from home out of eight or nine hundreds and it's the way he gets his runs, with class and he gets them quickly under this new regime, and I love watching him play," opined Ponting, while speaking on the latest episode of the ICC Review.

'He's a generational type of player' - Ponting on Brook
Ponting, who was the head coach of Delhi Capitals till the conclusion of IPL 2023, recalled why he thought Brook would be a prized addition to the roster.
"I got him in the IPL auction last year because I think he's a generational type of player. I think he's really starting to show that now at Test level and I think he can do the same across all three formats," he said.
Brook, who was acquired for INR 6.25 crore ahead of the past IPL season, pulled out before the tournament started as his grandmother passed away and he decided to be with his family in the challenging time. In October this year, Brook slammed a triple century (317) in Multan against Pakistan to join England's red-ball greats with the rare record in Test cricket.
