Star India cricketer Rishabh Pant suffered multiple injuries during his horrific car accident on December 30, 2022. Following which, he underwent multiple surgeries and after being in rehab for the majority part, he is all set to make his return to cricket against Punjab Kings on March 23. The National Cricket Academy (NCA) has given him a fit certificate for IPL 2024 as Pant has already joined the DC camp in Vizag.
Ahead of that, the cricketer revealed that he is a ‘little nervous’. He played his last professional match on December 25 against Bangladesh and since then, he has only played practice matches. However, Pant added that he is excited as well to make his return and it gives him goosebumps to think about that but that’s not something he is focusing on at the moment.

“I think really excited times ahead but at the same time, a little bit nervous also. When you are sitting outside, you are talking, having all the fun, so it’s okay but when you start getting inside the field, it’s a different atmosphere altogether. So, a little nervous but I think that comes with the game and it is part of the process,” Pant said on the Club Prairie Fire podcast.

“Really excited because I don’t know how I am gonna feel on the field when I first enter.. I am having goosebumps thinking about it but at the same, not think about that all the time. In some parts of my mind, I am thinking about it but just keeping it simple. Having fun each and every day with good energy, being positive around the people and that’s what it means,” the 26-year-old added.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals have confirmed that Pant will once again lead the franchise in the upcoming season. He is deemed fit to keep wickets as well but the team management may not risk him at the moment, especially with Tristan Stubbs and Kumar Khusagra available for selections.
