India and England are engaged in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 tournament at Adelaide Oval on Thursday (November 10). Rishabh Pant made his first appearance in the tournament against Zimbabwe in India’s last Super 12 Group 2 fixture after missing out on the first four games.

Pant, who has been a match-winner for India on several occasions, named his first five players who he would select for the dream team. Surprisingly, the wicketkeeper batter has included himself in the list despite his recent struggles with bat and gloves.

The 25-year-old batter also included England captain and wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler in his dream T20I team. Buttler has been in sensational format across formats this year and his contribution in the semi-final game against India also turned out to be a vital. Pant has also named English batting all-rounder Liam Livingstone in this dream team and said that he loves the way the player is batting for last few years.

“The first five players which I would pick in a T20 XI for my side are Jos Buttler. Whenever he comes to bat, especially in T20s, I feel he can hit anywhere in this world. I love watching Livingstone, the way he has been playing over the last two, three years,” Pant said while speaking to the ICC.

Choosing Bumrah, there is never a doubt: Rishabh Pant

After naming two batters, Pant revealed two bowlers who he would like to have in his same team. He picked the star Indian pacer Bumrah, who is missing the World Cup with an injury and as a spin option, he went with Rashid Khan, who has let the ball talk on innumerable occasions.

“Choosing Bumrah, there is never a doubt. You need a fast bowler, so I’m going to add Bumrah for that. And Rashid, he’s been a mystery spinner over a period of the last six, seven years now. I love him, and he can contribute with the bat too.

“Because I’m choosing this team, I have to be in it. It’s compulsory for me to choose myself, that’s why I went there,” Pant explained while naming himself as a fifth player for his dream T20I team.
