India's star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who survived a horrific car crash last month, is slated to be moved to Mumbai for further treatment of his injuries, according to DDCA Director Shyam Sharma. He is currently admitted at the Max Hospital in Dehradun and is under observation after being discharged from the ICU on Monday.
Rishabh Pant met with an unfortunate accident on the morning of December 30 when his car collided with a divider on the Narsan border of Roorkee near Hammadpur Jhal. He was traveling from Delhi to Roorkee to surprise his mother for the New Year. The accident left him with several wounds, however, he escaped without sustaining any life-threatening injury.
The injured cricketer is currently under observation at the Max Hospital in Dehradun after he was shifted to a private suite from the ICU on Monday. Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) Director Shyam Sharma, who has been in close contact with the Delhi Capitals skipper, revealed that the cricketer will be shifted to Mumbai for further treatment later on Wednesday.
"Cricketer Rishabh Pant will be shifted to Mumbai today for further treatment," Sharma told the media.
Pant had sustained laceration wounds on his back and near his eyes, evading fatal injuries. He has also suffered a ligament tear in his right knee, which is likely to see him out of action until mid-2023. According to several reports, the injured cricketer will be under the care of BCCI doctors in Mumbai.
"Pant is in high spirits and responding well to treatment. He underwent a plastic surgery on his left eyebrow where he suffered a cut in the accident. As far as the ligament injury in his right knee is concerned, he will take some time to recover. He will be provided the best possible treatment," Sharma said earlier regarding Pant's treatment.
