The T20 World Cup 2024 is ready for one of its most anticipated clashes as India and Pakistan are all set to face off at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, on Sunday, June 9.

Ahead of the much-anticipated encounter, an interaction between star Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi and some Indian fans has been going viral. In the clip, the fans were seen surrounding Shaheen, with one fan even asking the pacer not to perform against India.

“You don't have to bowl efficiently; consider Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as your good friends,” the fan can be seen saying in the video. Throughout the interaction, Shaheen kept a smile on his face, even enjoying the conversation with the India fans.

India clash could a do-or-die for Pakistan

Speaking of the game, the Indian team will be coming into the clash on the back of a dominant win against Ireland. However, the same is not the case for Pakistan. The Babar Azam-led side took on the USA in their first game of the tournament and lost it in a Super Over.

Currently, Pakistan occupy the fourth spot in their group with no points in one match while India sit in second place with two pointsh. Meanwhile, the USA are currently atop the group with four points in two matches.

The clash against India could be very crucial for Pakistan as a loss could mean that they would be unable to make it to the Super8 stage of the competition.

After India, Pakistan will be taking on Ireland and Canada, and it could come down to the results of the different teams for Pakistan to qualify, if they lose to India.
