Rohit Sharma has backed a lot of boys and we see its results now: Hardik Pandya
"Rohit has been special in giving players ample opportunities," said Hardik Pandya.
Ahead of the India vs Pakistan clash in the World Cup 2023, India all-rounder Hardik Pandya lauded Rohit Sharma's leadership, highlighting how Sharma has consistently supported and encouraged numerous players during his captaincy. Pandya also emphasized that under Sharma's guidance, team members have been given the freedom to showcase their skills and express themselves on the field.
Rohit assumed the role of India's captain in November 2021, initially as the T20I skipper following Virat Kohli's resignation. Subsequently, when Kohli stepped down from captaincy in all formats, he was entrusted with the responsibility of leading India across formats. Pandya emphasized that the India opener has been steadfast in supporting and providing numerous players with significant opportunities during his captaincy tenure.
“I think since he has come, he has backed a lot of boys which I think we see the result now. The boys are going and kind of expressing themselves. Rohit has been special in giving them enough ample opportunities and at the same point of time telling them you know what, I got it back”, Pandya said in an ICC video.
