Indian Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma reportedly received three traffic challans for speeding on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The incident took place when the opening batter was on his way to join the Indian team in Pune for their next game against Bangladesh on Thursday, October 19.

Notably, India have won their first three matches in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against Australia, Afghanistan and Pakistan and will now lock horns with Bangladesh. According to reports, Sharma was driving at speeds exceeding 200 km/h and hence three online traffic challans were issued to his vehicle for reckless driving.

According to a report in Pune Mirror, a traffic department person expressed concerns about the Indian captain’s reckless driving on a busy highway in the middle of the World Cup and suggested that he should be travelling in the team bus along with a police escort. The report also stated that the Indian skipper was driving a Lamborghini having a number plate of his highest ODI score ‘264’.
