Indian skipper and ace batter Rohit Sharma has been in tremendous form of late. During the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, Sharma has been rewarded for his superb show with the bat, as he has bettered his position in the ICC ODI rankings. Rohit is currently ranked sixth after the latest ODI rankings were updated. Notably, this marks the first time that Rohit has overtaken star batter Virat Kohli in the 50-over format, who is currently in the ninth position.

Speaking of the most recent performances of the 'Hitman', he scored a record-breaking century against Afghanistan, where he lit the Arun Jaitley Stadium with a magnanimous 131 off just 84 balls consisting of 16 fours and five skyrocketing sixes. In the very next game against arch-rivals Pakistan, Rohit continued his good run with the bat and scored 86 runs at a strike rate of 136.50 and helped in registering a staggering victory for the team.
Kohli, on the other hand, has also been in sensational touch with the bat. In their first match of the ongoing tournament against Australia, the No.3 batter made 85 runs batting in tremendous pressure. He also engaged with KL Rahul in a 165-run partnership, when the team lost three of their wickets for just two runs while chasing 200 at Chepauk.
Quinton de Kock, Trent Boult rewarded for consistency
South African opener and wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock, who is playing his last ODI assignment, started off the tournament with a bang, as he scored two consecutive hundreds against Sri Lanka and Australia, respectively. His consecutive tons helped him jump three spots higher in the ODI rankings, taking the Southpaw to the third position.
Meanwhile, star left-arm pacer Trent Boult has been having a good run at the World Cup, as he has picked three wickets while being really miser while giving away runs. Boult has also advanced a position higher and is only behind Aussie pacer Josh Hazlewood, who holds the top spot.
