Royal Challengers Bengaluru sign Omkar Salvi as bowling coach
Salvi is currently the head coach of Mumbai, which won the Ranji Trophy and Irani Cup earlier in the year.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru have roped in Omkar Salvi as the new bowling coach for the IPL 2025. He is currently associated with Mumbai as head coach and it was under his guidance, that the Ajinkya Rahane-led side won the Ranji Trophy and later Irani Cup. He has enormous experience and understands domestic cricket well, which will help Bengaluru immensely. Meanwhile, before the Mumbai job, Salvi has also worked with the Knight Riders franchise.
RCB have retained the duo of Andy Flower and Mo Bobat and announced Dinesh Karthik as the new batting coach earlier in the year. Karthik and Salvi follow domestic cricket very closely and will play a key role in building the team for the upcoming mega-auction, slated to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah.

Meanwhile, RCB’s Director of Cricket Mo Bobat welcomed Salvi into the set-up and added that he can play a vital role in developing fast bowlers. Bobat also talked about his vast experience and added that Salvi’s technical expertise, local knowledge and leadership will make RCB a better squad.

RCB have retained only three players ahead of the mega-auction. Star batter Virat Kohli has been retained for INR 21 crore, Rajat Patidar for INR 11 crore and Yash Dayal for INR 5 crore. They will build a squad around these players and they have INR 83 crore left to spend in the auction. The duo of Flower and Bobat have been extremely successful in international cricket and now they have the responsibility of helping the team win its maiden IPL title in history.
