The Pakistan team has been struggling in the second Test at Cape Town where the South African batters have dominated the Pakistan bowlers. The South African batters are having another great day on day two with Ryan RickeltonTemba Bavuma, and Kyle Verreynne already scoring big in the match.

The problems for Pakistan do not end there since they have also lost one of their star players due to injury during the game as well. Saim Ayub, during the first day, was seen chasing the ball that was edged by Rickelton with Aamer Jamal also going after it. Ayub was set to be the relay fielder as Jamal pulled the ball back in but he lost his balance in the process and twisted his ankle which resulted in him going off the field.

Ayub was sent for scans straight away which confirmed the fracture and according to reports has been ruled out for six weeks. This also means that the 22-year-old southpaw will no longer play in the ongoing Test match as well. This is a disappointing end to the series for him since he could not convert his starts in the Boxing Day Test in Centurion and will not get the opportunity to make an impact in the second Test at the Newlands.

Ayub has scored only 364 runs in the 14 Test innings he has played and has only averaged 26. He has only three 50+ scores to his name with the highest score of 77 against England in Multan.
