Durban Super Giants, who have been successfully acquired by RP Sanjiv Goenka, made some eye-catching buys at the SA20 auction on Monday, September 19.

Super Giants' biggest buy at the star-studded auction on Monday turned out to be South Africa's star wicket-keeper batter Heinrich Klassen. Giants paid a hefty amount of 4.5 million Rand to make Klassen their own. Klassen's addition is going to add plenty of firepower to the Super Giants' squad.

Big expectations from Heinrich Klassen:

The 31-year-old has a reasonably good T20I record. In 36 matches, Klassen has scored 651 runs at an impressive strike rate of 147.61. The Pretoria-born brings a lot of experience with himself to the franchise as he has featured in 129 T20 matches thus far and scored 2453 runs at a strike rate of 136.50.

Their second-most notable buy at the auction turned out to be Dwaine Pretorius. Being a seam-bowling allrounder, who can add plenty of value with the willow, Pretorius was always going to be one of the most sought-after players at the auction, and that's what it turned out to be.

Super Giants paid a handsome amount of 4.1 million Rand to rope in the 33-year-old allrounder to the mix. The franchise also bought Wiaan Mulder for 1.9 million Rand. Mulder, again, is quite similar to Pretorious and will be expected to provide key wickets to the team and score those crucial runs at a high tempo with the bat in hand.

Super Giants fetched another intriguing buy in the form of right-arm off-spinner Simon Harmer, who has returned to the South African set-up after the end of his Kolpak deal. Harmer had signed the Kolpak deal because it provided him with the opportunity to play all three formats.

He played an instrumental role in the success of Essex in county cricket and has come back as a much improved player, and the Super Giants are looking to make full use of his resourcefulness.

Here is the full squad of the Durban Super Giants for the inaugural season of the SA20 league:

Quinton de Kock, Prenelan Subrayen, Jason Holder, Kyle Mayers, Reece Topley, Dwaine Pretorius, Heinrich Klaasen, Keemo Paul, Keshav Maharaj, Kyle Abbott, Junior Dala, Dilshan Madushanka, Johnson Charles, Matthew Breetzke, Christiaan Jonker, Wiaan Mulder, Simon Harmer
