Sachin Tendulkar likely to get BCCI Lifetime Achievement award at NAMAN event

The Indian cricketing world has been known to produce a lot of legendary figures in the game who have contributed a lot towards the game. One of the legendary cricketers who is celebrated even today is Sachin Tendulkar who is also known as the greatest batter to ever grace the field.

The 24-year journey of the Master Blaster is filled with iconic moments, whether it is his 100 international centuries or his elegant stroke play and capability of scoring runs all around the park. These achievements were enough for the great batter to be conferred with the BCCI Lifetime Achievement at the board's annual gala which will be held in Mumbai on Saturday ahead of the fifth and final T20I against England. The prestigious award was last given to Farokh Engineer and Ravi Shastri in 2024.

The records set by Tendulkar, also known as God of Cricket, still stand even after his retirement from the game where he remains as the player who has played the most international games with 664 matches to his name and also holds the record for the most runs in international cricket with 34357 with 18426 in ODIs and 15921 in Test matches.

This will be another honourable award for the Mumbai-born who has received award not only the cricketing boards but the government as well which include the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Shri, Maharashtra Bhushan, Khel Ratna Award, and Arjuna Award.

Speaking of his performances in T20 cricket Tendulkar might have played only one T20I for India, but has played 96 T20 matches in franchise cricket for the Mumbai Indians where he has scored 2797 runs at an average of 32.90 which includes 16 half centuries and one century which he scored against the now defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011 at the Wankhede stadium. He still stands as the fifth-highest run scorer for Mumbai Indians, more than a decade after his retirement, and led the team to their first IPL final in 2010.
