Seasoned all-rounder Sam Curran has been busy representing the Desert Vipers in the latest edition of the DP World International League T20 (ILT20). The 2025 season of the T20 league has seen the Vipers qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament with seven wins out of nine, with one more to go in the league stage. They are also the table toppers currently with 14 points in their campaign so far.

On Sunday, February 02, Curran, who is also their captain, caught up with CricTracker on the sidelines of the tournament, and expressed his opinions on the kind of season the Desert Vipers have had so far.

The England international also opened up on how he wants to the team to move into the knockout stages of the intensely-fought competition.

"It has been a really good season for the team. I think we've been really consistent throughout the season. I think now, like you said, it's the crunch time, so we're very excited. We have one more game tomorrow. which we'll again try and win, keep the momentum going. We'll wait and see who'll be playing the first game on Wednesday in the semi-finals. I think the team is in a really good place, very confident, training really well. Yeah, fingers crossed it's the season for the Vipers to win there," Curran said.

Speaking of Curran's individual performances, they haven't really been up to the mark, since he has managed only six wickets in the nine games played thus far.

With the bat, however, he has been pretty much there with the kind of consistency he has shown. Batting mostly in the business phases of the innings, Curran has 239 runs from eight innings at an average of 47.80. He has been striking the ball at a rate of 120.10, however, with the kind of difficulties the batters have found on the UAE pitches, it hasn't been majorly concerning.
