Shaheen Afridi to tie the knot with Shahid Afridi's daughter Ansha on February 3: Report

Pakistan’s bowling sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi’s wedding has been reported to take place on February 3, as per family sources. Notably, Shaheen had been engaged to former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi’s daughter, Ansha two years ago. The seamer is all set to tie the knot and the preparations from both families have already started.

With an average of under 25 in all three formats, Shaheen has been the leading bowling attack for the last two years and has emerged as a world-class pacer. During his recent interview with Geo Talk show named “Aik Din Geo Kai Sath”, Shaheen had revealed that it was his wish to marry Ansha and expects to catch up with her soon.

"It was my wish and Alhumdulillah it is fulfilled now," Shaheen said. 

"I met her and will meet her soon".  

Shaheen Afridi's injury concerns 

The 22-year-old picked up an injury right before the Asia Cup 2022 and missed the entire tournament. He recovered just in time for the T20 World Cup 2022 however, he did not look fit on most occasions and clearly lacked game time. The seamer still played a big part in Pakistan reaching the T20 World Cup finals which they went on to lose to England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.  

Post the T20 World Cup campaign, Shaheen was unavailable for the three-match home Test series against England and it proved to a massive absence. The left-arm pacer had the ability to clock high speeds and would have been quite potent as he swings the ball both ways up front. Shaheen’s fellow pacers Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah had also picked up injuries in the first Test and Pakistan’s depleted bowling attack looked tooth less against England.

The PCB management recently revealed that Shaheen is unlikely to return to international cricket until the April of next year after he underwent a surgical procedure to remove appendicitis. The speedster’s participation in the Pakistan Super League 2022 is yet to be confirmed and will depend on the recovery period.
