'Top three batters taking pressure off us' - Shahrukh Khan lauds GT trio for bulk scoring in IPL 2025
GT will take on RR at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on April 28
Gujarat Titans' Shahrukh Khan admitted that the top three batters are taking our pressure off from every game in the IPL 2025. Ahead of the match against Rajasthan Royals, the middle-order batter acknowledged that the trio of Shubman Gill, B. Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler have handled the hard overs and provided the side a situation where they are able to play rather comfortably.
The Tamil Nadu batter emphasised that there was time to practice and ensure to be well-prepared to deliver when the situation arose. The 29-year-old cricketer expressed his happiness over the presence of the England-batter Jos Buttler in GT.
“The way the top three are batting, they are taking a lot of pressure off you. You just need to understand what situation you have to go into,” said Shahrukh Khan as quoted by The Hindu.
“But we compensate for that with our practice. We have a facility back home to bat for a long time and to ensure that we are ready to deliver when the situation comes,” he added.
“He could walk into any IPL team,” he added on the inclusion of Jos Buttler in the Titans squad.
Khan has faced just 39 balls in the IPL 2025 so far in the eight games. In three matches, the batter did not have to get into the pitch and score for the team. The top-order troika has scored 1078 runs out of the 1550 they have made in total so far for their franchise this year. Their bowlers have also been in top form of late, which has ensured them a top spot on the table.
GT will clash with RR on April 28 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. A win will mean a near-confirmation of the Playoff's spot for the franchise, and they can become the first team to make it to the top four in the tournament.
