Dhawan shared about the difficulties of being away from his son and his new journey after international cricket retirement.

Shikhar Dhawan retired from international cricket on retired in August 2024 at the age of 38 and his personal life took a back seat at the fag end of his career. His marriage which began in 2012, fell apart in 2021. Moreover, the former India cricketer also lost custody of his lone child. His son Zoravar Dhawan, lives with his mother in Australia and meets once in a while.
While the southpaw is busy with other cricketing commitments after announcing his retirement from international cricket, he hasn't met his son personally. It is worth noting that, Shikhar Dhawan is currently playing in different franchise leagues across the globe. While opening up on his relationship with his son and meeting the kid, he gave a sneak peek into how he conceives his life.
"It has been two years since I've seen my son, one year since I last spoke to him. It has been difficult, but you learn to live with it. I miss him and speak to him spiritually. I feel through affirmations that I'm conversing with him everyday, hugging him. I put my energy into it spiritually. It is the only way I can bring back my son. My sadness won't help. I manifest," Dhawan was quoted as saying by NDTV Sports.

"I already feel that I'm with him, speaking to him, playing with him. When I sit for my meditation, I visualise those things. My son is 11 years old now, but I have seen him for only two and a half years of his life," Dhawan concluded.
Dhawan scored over 6,000 runs for India in ODIs
Meanwhile, speaking of Shikhar Dhawan's career, the southpaw was one of the best when talked about Indian batters in ODIs, the Delhi batter in his ODI career, played 167 matches and scored 6,793 runs, with an average of 44.11. He is widely remembered for his contribution to India at the ICC events with the bat.
