Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has shared a peculiar tweet while giving away his ICC World T20 2007 jersey for charity. The ex-speedster was very aggressive on the pitch and scalped wickets for fun during his stint as a player across all formats.

Known fondly as the Rawalpindi Express, Shoaib has a wide reach on social media and in one of his recent tweets, he announced that he is giving away his ICC World T20 2007 jersey for charity to Akhuwat - a not-for-profit organisation that works to alleviate poverty by empowering socially and economically marginalized segments of the society through interest-free microfinance and education.

In the caption, Shoaib asked his followers to guess the reason why he was sent back to Pakistan from the mega event in 2007.

Shoaib took to Twitter to share the jersey for a charity in Birmingham at Edgbaston Cricket Ground:

Interestingly enough, Shoaib was asked to leave the Pakistan ICC World T20 2007 squad following an altercation with teammate Mohammad Asif.

Both Shoaib and Asif got engaged in an argument during the team's nets session in Johannesburg prior to the fixtures. It later culminated in Shoaib allegedly striking Asif on the thigh with a bat. Later, it was the Pakistan Cricket Board that had to intervene and make a formal announcement on the unfortunate incident.

The PCB disclosed that the initial inquiry suggested Shoaib using abusive language in addition to him physically assaulting Asif. The excessive aggressive behaviour pushed the board to take stringent action against the ex-speedster and they sent him back to Pakistan.

Moreover, many former Pakistani cricketers backed the decision maintained by the board and believed there was no room for aggression beyond a certain line. Nonetheless, Akhtar has been a legend of the sport and contributed plenty for the team’s he has represented.
