Shot of the Day - Rajat Patidar smashes maximum off Hardik Pandya at Wankhede- MI vs RCB IPL 2024
Rajat Patidar scored 50 off 26 deliveries with the help of three fours and four sixes.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Rajat Patidar showcased his prowess in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the famed Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 11, Thursday. After being asked to bat first, RCB faced early setbacks with the dismissals of Virat Kohli and Will Jacks within four overs.
However, Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar stood firm and anchored two-down RCB’s innings. Patidar exhibited his exceptional skill in big hitting by launching Hardik Pandya for a six towards the long-on region on the fifth delivery of the 10th over before the MI captain bowled two wides in a row. It's worth noting that RCB were at 89/2 at that point in time.

In the following over, MI opted for a review for a caught behind appeal against Patidar, but the replay ascertained no contact with the bat or glove, ensuring the batter's survival against Jasprit Bumrah. The 30-year-old then smacked two consecutive sixes off Gerald Coetzee's delivery in the 12th over, thereby reaching his half-century in just 25 balls, including three boundaries and four maximums. Unfortunately, his innings came to an end on the very next delivery, a short ball aimed at the body, but the batter got the edge on it.
