Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli continued his sensational form in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) as he slammed first hundred of the season on Saturday, April 06 against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Opening the innings with Faf du Plessis, the 35-year-old got involved in a massive 125-run stand off 84 balls with his skipper as he completed his fifty off 39 balls.
He went on to complete his hundred off 67 balls and finished his innings on an unbeaten 113* off 72 balls with the help of 12 fours and four sixes. Kohli put his wide array of strokes on display as he smashed RR bowlers to all corners of the park.

In an innings full of breathtaking shots, Kohli played a majestic pull against Nandre Burger in the fourth over and launched him over deep square leg boundary for a maximum. The right-handed batter quickly got into position seeing the ball pitch short and clobbered him with ease to collect a maximum.

Meanwhile, despite Kohli’s marvellous hundred, RCB could only post 183/3 in their allotted 20 overs as Glenn Maxwell (1 off 3) and Cameron Green (5* off 6) failed to get going. Captain du Plessis scored 44 (33) with the help of two fours and two sixes. Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the bowlers for RR with figures of 2/34 in four overs.
Rajasthan Royals won the match by six wickets
In reply, Rajasthan chased down the target in 19.1 overs with a splendid century from Jos Buttler (100* off 58) and a half-century from captain Sanju Samson (69 off 42). The duo got involved in a massive n a massive 148-run stand for the second wicket off just 86 balls which brought Rajasthan to the verge of a win.

Courtesy of their win, RR climbed to the top of the points table with eight points from four matches while RCB slipped to the seventh spot with two points from five games.
