Star Indian batter Shubman Gill recently captured every headline after a rumour was flying around that the 23-year-old has a crush on actress Rashmika Mandanna. After a Bollywood news page posted the news about Gill having a ‘thing’ for the Indian actress, fans went wild after hearing the news.
The post stated that Gill had confessed to having a crush on Rashmika in a recent media interaction and that fans were eagerly waiting for a reply by the Indian actress.
However, the fire was quickly extinguished after Gill debunked the rumours by making a comment under that post. "Which media interaction was this, that I myself don’t know about," Gill commented under the post.
Shubman Gill could replace KL Rahul in Ahmedabad as well
After disappointing performances in the first two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Indian opener KL Rahul was dropped from the squad. The 30-year-old only managed to score 38 runs across the two matches he played, and many opined that it was time for Shubman Gill to step in and open alongside Rohit Sharma.
Gill was opted as the opener in the Indore Test, but he too was unable to perform and score some runs. The 23-year-old scored 26 runs across the two innings he played, as Australia ultimately won the game by nine wickets.
It could be interesting to see what line-up team India goes with when they take on Australia in the series decider in Ahmedabad. The hosts cannot afford to slip up now, as their spot in the World Test Championship final is at stake. The Rohit Sharma-led team would be looking to go all out and put out their best performance.
Notably, India will depend on New Zealand should they suffer a loss in the final Test of the series to qualify for the WTC final. Both India and Australia will lock horns with each other at the Narendra Modi Stadium on March 9 in Ahmedabad.
