England cricketer Jos Buttler has been phenomenal with the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He has been amongst the runs in all three games so far and has provided solidity to the top-order aong with Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan

Meanwhile, Buttler was lavish in praise for his captain Shubman Gill, labelling him a "star" and India's upcoming "Poster Boy". Gill hasn't had the kind of start he would have wanted in the tournament but Buttler believes that he is a "brilliant captain" and has the ability in him to lead the team well. Notably, Gill is leading the side for a second season running after Hardik Pandya moved to the Mumbai Indians last year.

"Look, Shubman is a star, isn't he? He is going to be the poster boy of Indian cricket. I think he is a fantastic player. I have really enjoyed it. I think one of the great things with the IPL is that I have played against these guys. But now I get to watch him up close and be on my team. I really like watching him practise and learning things about how he goes about it. He has led the team brilliantly," Buttler told Cricbuzz.

"He has got a nice relationship with the whole team. And he and the coach get on well. And yeah, he has got that passion on the field which I love and also a clear, calm head. So he is doing a fantastic job as leader," added Buttler.

Buttler was also effusive in praise for Gill's opening partner, Sudharsan. On being asked to name a cricketer who has caught his attention, Buttler reckoned Sudharsan has plenty of talent and a "bright future" ahead of him.

Sai Sudharsan has certainly caught my attention: Jos Buttler

"Sai Sudharsan has certainly caught my attention. He was a top player and an exciting talent. But as I said, when you get to see guys up close and you watch him practice, I think he looks like he's got an incredibly bright future ahead of him. Obviously, he's got all the talent, the game and everything and is incredibly dedicated. A young man to the game of cricket and the top person to go with it. So I've really enjoyed watching him play and sharing a few partnerships with him so far. So yeah, I think he's got a very, very bright future," he said.

Speaking of the Titans, they defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, in their most recent fixture, with Buttler's unbeaten 73 and Sudarshan's 49 playing a key role in their eight-wicket win. Mohammed Siraj was phenomenal with the ball, claiming three wickets in four overs against his former franchisr to be named the Player of the Match.
