Indian pacer Siddarth Kaul recently announced his arrival in English county cricket with a sensational performance on debut for Northamptonshire against Gloucestershire. The 33-year-old right-arm pacer finished with stunning figures of 5/76 from 29 overs to bundle out the visitors for 409 in the first innings at Northampton.
Though Kaul represented India across formats between 2018-2019, appearing in three ODIs and three T20Is, his international career never really took off. He was however a consistent performer in the IPL, picking up 58 wickets in 54 matches with a best of 4/29.

Kaul ends with figures of 5/76
Kaul's most prolific IPL season came in 2018 when he took 21 wickets at an economy of 8.28. His performances earned him a Northamptonshire contract for the 2024 County Championship season.
On a flat Northampton deck, Kaul extracted immense movement with the Dukes ball to run through the Gloucestershire batting line-up. He struck at crucial intervals, first removing opener Cameron Bancroft for 53.

Kaul then scalped the wickets of Oliver Price, James Bracey, Zafar Gohar, and Josh Shaw to record his first five-wicket haul in England. Liam Patterson-White supported him with a two-wicket burst.

For Gloucestershire, Miles Hammond scored a superb 112 from 133 balls, striking 17 fours and a six. The visiting skipper Graeme van Buuren chipped in with 46, while Josh Shaw got a start before falling to Kaul for 44. The accuracy of Ben Sanderson and George Scrimshaw didn't allow the batters to get away, picking up one wicket each.
