Sikandar Raza's last-ball six keeps Capitals in play-off contention

Desert Vipers and Dubai Capitals faced off in a thrilling clash in the 27th game of the ongoing ILT20 2024. Both sides took on each other at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday, February 9. The clash went down to the wire in the end, as the Capitals required 13 runs to win the game in the final over.
Youngster Ali Naseer was given the opportunity to bowl the final over, and he bowled quite bravely. As the Capitals required six runs to win the game off the final ball, it was the brilliant display by Zimbabwe star Sikandar Raza that helped the Capitals win the game.
Orchestrating his team’s victory, Raza built a 79-run partnership in 54 balls for the fourth wicket with Sam Billings and a 40-run partnership in 23 balls with Dasun Shanaka for the fifth wicket.
The star all-rounder hit the final ball for a six-over long-on and helped the Capitals win the game by five wickets. Raza ended his innings after scoring 60* runs in 45 deliveries, earning the Player of the Match award.

Dubai Capitals continue to move up in ILT20 standings
Dubai Capitals took on Desert Vipers in the 27th game of the ILT20 2024, and the clash began with Vipers batting first. The side got off to a good start as Phil Salt and Alex Hales scored 26 and 66 runs, respectively.
However, after the opener’s onslaught, the rest of the batters fell prey to Capitals’ exceptional bowling prowess. Olly Stone and Roelof van der Merwe were the highest wicket takers with two wickets each, Scott Kuggeleijn, Haider Ali, and Sikandar Raza struck once each as well.
Vipers posted a target of 172 runs for Capitals and aiming to chase it down, the side got off to a horrid start as openers Tom Banton and Max Holden scored 15 and eight runs, respectively.
Furthermore, skipper Sam Billings scored 57 runs in 36 deliveries, with Raza adding 60 runs, as Capitals won the game by five wickets and registered their fourth win of the season.
