'Singham bhi aaye hain yaha pe' - Shadab Khan gives touch of Bollywood glamour to World Cup 2023 media conference

Pakistan's star all-rounder Shadab Khan brought a touch of Bollywood glamour to the World Cup 2023 media conference, winning hearts on both sides of the border. As the Pakistan cricket team arrived in India for the much-anticipated tournament, Shadab Khan, known for his on-field prowess and off-field style, made a reference to the iconic Bollywood movie, "Singham." During the team's first official media conference in Hyderabad, Shadab Khan couldn't help but notice a police officer present in the room.

The reference was a nod to the famous Bollywood character Bajirao Singham, portrayed by Ajay Devgn, a supercop known for his fearless attitude. Shadab Khan's light-hearted remark added a touch of humour to the proceedings, showcasing the camaraderie between the Pakistani players and their Indian hosts. The warm welcome received at the Hyderabad airport and the enthusiastic reception from fans at the team hotel left Shadab and his teammates impressed.

"Singham bhi aaye hain yaha pe (I see Singham is also present here). The welcome was fantastic at the (Hyderabad) airport and also a lot of people have been thronging the team hotel and hospitality wise it’s been really good,” Shadab said during Pakistan's first media conference in India.

"The food has been really tasty and the support staff (all South Africans) are worried that we end up increasing our fat percentage (laughs). Hope, we get the same love in Ahmedabad where we play India (laughs),” the Pakistan Vice Captain continued.

Furthermore, Pakistan's vice-captain did not hold back from appreciating the Team India skipper and opener, Rohit Sharma. During the interaction, the leg spinner admitted that it is really hard to contain the Hitman when he is in the zone. Once the opponent allows him to spend some time at the crease, Rohit Sharma simply becomes unstoppable and dangerous. He also did not miss out on name-dropping Kuldeep Yadav among spinners by saying that the willy left-arm wrist spinner is the most dangerous bowler ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023.

"I admire Rohit Sharma a lot and among the leading batsmen in the world, he is the most difficult to bowl to. Once he gets set he becomes very dangerous. Among the bowlers, since I am a leg-spinner, it will be Kuldeep Yadav given his recent form,” Shadab concluded.
