'Siraj sank RCB's ship' - Harbhajan Singh praises GT pacer highly after match-winning performance
GT defeated RCB by eight wickets in the IPL 2025.
Gujarat Titans' (GT) shambolic start to the season has turned rhythmic after beating the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Wednesday, April 2. It was an excellent performance by the visitors as they secured a win by eight wickets. It was a comfortable win, thanks to Mohammed Siraj's three-wicket haul and Jos Buttler's attacking unbeaten knock of 73 runs.
After the match, former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh spoke about Siraj's revenge against his former team. The bowler was the main reason behind RCB's defeat, as he didn't give away many runs during his spell, keeping the game tight. Plus, he dismissed Phil Salt (14 off 13), Devdutt Padikkal (4 off 3), and Liam Livingstone (54 off 40), who were the hard-hitters of the team.
"Siraj was enthusiastic because he had to prove a point. RCB, his former side, didn't pick him; he played there for so many years. Siraj sank RCB's ship. Salute to DSP Siraj. It is definitely a Man of the Match performance. Congratulations to Siraj. Rashid was too expensive. GT batted well. Buttler was impressive," said Harbhajan on his YouTube channel.

RCB were reduced to just 169 runs for the loss of eight wickets for which a lot of credit goes to the GT bowlers. Sai Kishore got two wickets, while all the other bowlers picked up one wicket each except Rashid Khan, who remained wicketless once again.
GT chased down the 170-run target in just 17.5 overs, getting two invaluable points and a solid NRR. It will help them in the future, if needed. Shubman Gill would be a happy captain as his team halted RCB's winning streak after two back-to-back wins in the tournament. The points table looks interesting, with Punjab Kings (PBKS), Delhi Capitals (DC), RCB, and GT ruling the top four respectively.
