The Indian U19 side is gearing up for the final of the U19 World Cup, where they take on Australia U19 for a shot at the title. Several youngsters have performed to the peak of their abilities to help the Men in Blue reach the summit clash of the tournament, but the name that has stood out has been the skipper, Uday Saharan.

Saharan has been the U19 World Cup’s highest run-getter, with 389 runs in six matches at an average of 64.83, with a century and three fifties. His best score is 100. It is also worth noting that India’s clash against Australia is India's fifth successive U19 World Cup final appearance and their third against the Aussies.

His performances have certainly caught the eye of veteran Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin. The 37-year-old opined that Uday Saharan has been the find of the tournament and lauded him for his composure, comparing him to the likes of Rinku Singh.

"This World Cup, many people are already calling him (Uday Saharan) the find of the World Cup; he is the first captain to be the highest run-getter of the team. It is not about the runs; it is about the match-winning ability of Uday Saharan that impresses me; it is the composure with which he plays," Ashwin said in a video on his YouTube channel.

"Something just like Rinku Singh, which I told recently. It cannot be bought with money. Uday Saharan has that ingrained in him. He has a quiet assurance. He has a calm, composed and confident nature," he added.

Saharan showcased his prowess with the bat in the semi-final of the tournament against South Africa, where he scored 81 runs in 124 deliveries, and alongside Sachin Dhas, who amassed 96 runs in 95 deliveries, India defeated South Africa by two wickets and managed to book their berth in the summit clash against Australia.
