The Indian cricket team, over the years, has seen many changes and developments. Captains changed, management changed, and coaches changed, but the team’s approach kept getting better and better. The recent development that took place was former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly’s tenure as the president of the BCCI coming to an end, with former India cricketer and world cup-winning player Roger Binny replacing him in the role.

The whole world is aware of Ganguly’s contribution to Indian cricket, be it as a player, or the BCCI president, and Binny could not stop himself from praising the outgoing president. Binny, who was elected as the 36th president of the BCCI at the 91st Annual General Meeting, heaped praises on Ganguly and spoke on how he brought a revolution in the sport

“Sourav Ganguly is a big figure, he's a big name. He's the person who changed the face of Indian cricket. We saw when he was captain, he got them to be better cricketers, fighting cricketers. They won a lot of matches. They were unlucky they lost the World Cup when they lost the finals,” Binny was quoted as saying.

Ganguly can change cricketers overnight: Binny

Both Ganguly and Binny have contributed tremendously to Indian cricket. Binny was a crucial figure behind India’s historic 1983 World Cup win, and he also ended the tournament as the highest wicket-taker with 18 scalps under his name. Ganguly, on the other hand, is one of the most successful Test captains to date and he also inducted some terrific talents into the team, who went on to become legendary players.

“But he definitely changed the thought process and the playing conditions for cricketers. He's always a big icon, especially for the younger generation who are coming up. He's someone to look up to. Ganguly can change cricketers overnight. The way they approach the game. He'll talk for a little while and it'll definitely influence these people,” Binny added.
